The Kinmen Marathon is held in Kinmen County and is one of the most representative marathons on Taiwan's offshore islands.
The course crosses the main island of Kinmen, passing traditional Minnan villages, Min-style architecture, military bunkers and tunnel relics, as well as winter sorghum and wheat fields. The route is largely flat, though some sections are exposed to strong wind and require pacing discipline.
The cool race-day climate suits long-distance racing, and the event is a key opportunity to combine battlefield heritage with island scenery.
